Data the extension collects

Sign-in uses the Google account already in Chrome. Google shares your email address, display name, and Google account identifier. The extension keeps those, together with the session tokens for our API, in Chrome's local storage on your device. It also stores the summary length you pick, brief or detailed, and the summary language.

The extension does not ask for your YouTube password. It does not read your watch history, playlists, comments, or subscriptions.

YouTube URLs and content

On a YouTube video or Short, the extension reads the captions YouTube already provides for that page, and the video title. It sends the caption text, the title, the summary length, and the summary language to our API.

If the page does not yield captions, the extension sends the video URL instead. Our servers then fetch the public captions or transcribe the audio. That job is stored with your account and can include the URL, the transcript, and the job status. The extension does not download the video file onto your computer.

AI and external providers

Our API sends the caption text and title to OpenAI, which writes the summary and the key points. We do not send your Google password.

Google handles sign-in. Stripe handles the card payment and the customer portal. We store a Stripe customer id on the account so Manage subscription opens the right portal. We do not receive or store the card number.

Storage and deletion

Signing out removes the session from the device and revokes the refresh token on our server. Removing the extension removes the local copy.

On our servers we keep the account, the subscription status, a record that a summary was requested, and any transcription job created for a video. We do not publish a fixed deletion period for those records. To ask for deletion, use the support email on this page.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or its own cookies, and it has no account of its own. The extension does not set website cookies. It uses Chrome's extension storage.
